The Difficult Bride

Set in modern-day Dhaka, the film follows a woman preparing for her wedding. While she loves her partner and hopes for a perfect celebration, she privately struggles with a physical reaction against traditional marriage rituals. As her emotional distress and stress grow, she begins to imagine a mysterious woman with long hair.

Rubaiyat Hossain wrote and directed the film, which serves as the second project in her directorial career following Meherjaan in 2011. The production was a collaboration between companies from Bangladesh, Germany, France, Norway, and Portugal, with François d'Artemare serving as producer. The main cast features Zaineen Karim Chowdhury as Zai and Reekita Nondine Shimu as Minoti. The movie blends elements of drama, horror, fantasy, and thriller over a runtime of 87 minutes.
