Politics Are Personal is a documentary centered on a family in Düsseldorf. The film follows the daughter of a former Social Democratic mayor who begins filming her relatives after her father joins a new populist political party. Through her lens, she explores the shifting dynamics and personal tensions that arise when political allegiances change within a household.
The film was produced by Sommer Slatter Film and produced by Felix Sommer and Thomas Slatter. It marks the second feature directed by Indira Geisel, following her 2024 project, Eleven Tomorrows: Berlinale Meets Football. This German production has a runtime of 104 minutes.
