Freaky Friday

Freaky Friday is a 1976 Disney comedy about a mother and daughter who cannot see eye to eye. Annabel, a teenager, and her mother Ellen each believe the other has an easier life, and after they voice the same wish to trade places, they wake up on a Friday to find they have swapped bodies. Annabel must handle the household and family matters, while Ellen faces the demands of school, including a typing test and a field hockey game. The film was directed by Gary Nelson, following his 1974 debut The Girl on the Late, Late Show, and written by Mary Rodgers.

Jodie Foster plays Annabel and Barbara Harris plays Ellen, with John Astin as Bill Andrews, Patsy Kelly as Mrs Schmauss, Dick Van Patten as Harold Jennings and Vicki Schreck as Virginia, among a credited cast of 31. Produced by Ron Miller for Walt Disney Productions, it runs 95 minutes and took about 26 million dollars worldwide at the box office.
