The Train to Nowhere

The Train to Nowhere is a documentary that examines the expansion of Line 2 of the Light Rail Transit system in Ottawa. The film explores how this infrastructure project, once viewed by commuters as a potential turning point for city transit, evolved into a contentious political issue. Through the perspective of its filmmaker, the story documents the challenges surrounding the expansion and the daily experiences of the passengers who rely on these transport networks. Directed by Gio Petti, who also served as a producer and co-wrote the screenplay with Benjamin McLellan-Campbell, this film follows Petti's previous 2024 work, Dude, Where's My Bus?. Petti appears as himself and provides the narration for the 46-minute production. The cast includes Alex Cullen and Alex Munter, while archive footage features Justin Trudeau, Kathleen Wynne, and Mike Harris.
