Sometimes, I Imagine Them All at a Party

In this documentary, director Daniela Magnani Hüller examines a targeted attempt on her life that occurred fourteen years prior. Traveling from Munich to Rio de Janeiro, she engages in conversations with various individuals from that period, including a prosecutor, a detective, a teacher, and a former classmate. These interactions serve to provide an outside perspective on a violent act she finds impossible to fully comprehend. Through a self-reflective narrative, the film explores memories of brutality and warmth as the filmmaker seeks answers to long-standing questions and works to reclaim her voice.

This project marks the second film directed by Daniela Magnani Hüller, following her 2024 work Eleven Tomorrows: Berlinale Meets Football. Hüller also wrote the screenplay for the film, which was produced in Germany by Bildersturm Filmproduktion GmbH. The production team included producers Birgit Schulz and Margit Schulz. The movie was released on May 14, 2026, with a total runtime of 91 minutes.
