Short description

This Japanese animated special celebrates the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball. The film uses modern animation techniques to bring the colored illustrations and key scenes created by Akira Toriyama to life. By focusing on the original colors and textures of the artwork, the visuals illustrate the personal growth and journey of the character Son Goku.

The project was produced by Toei Animation, Shueisha, and Bird Studios. It was directed by Naoki Miyahara, who previously directed Pop in Q in 2016 and Wonderful PreCure! The Movie: A Grand Adventure in a Thrilling Game World! in 2024. Shusuke Imao and Mamoru Kunihiro served as producers for this five-minute production. The film was released on January 25, 2026.
