Yankee Zulu

Yankee Zulu follows two South African boys from different backgrounds, Rhino and Zulu, whose childhood friendship breaks apart after an incident involving a girl named Rowena. Years later their paths cross again. Zulu returns home after time in the United States, where he has become a wanted criminal, and Rhino stands by his old friend rather than abandon him. Their reunion sets off a chaotic pursuit across the country involving a valuable cheque, with a determined police officer named Diehard and Rhino's ex-wife Rowena among those giving chase. Leon Schuster plays Rhino and John Matshikiza plays Zulu, with Wilson Dunster, Terri Treas, Michelle Bowes and Skye Svorinic also in the credited cast.

The film was directed by Gray Hofmeyr, who co-wrote the screenplay with Leon Schuster and Craig Gardner; Andre Scholtz produced. It is the earliest title among the director's listed features, preceding Mr. Bones (2001), Mama Jack (2005) and Mr. Bones 3: Son of Bones (2022). Released in December 1993, it runs 100 minutes and is a comedy produced across the United States and South Africa.
