Orcolat is a documentary that examines the 1976 earthquake in Friuli and its lasting impact on the region's identity. Narrated by Bruno Pizzul, the film uses a collective approach to explore the process of rebirth and the solidarity found during the rebuilding efforts, while also addressing the contradictions and difficulties of the initial rescue operations. Through the perspectives of scholars, writers, athletes, and artists, the story reflects on how this historical event served as a model for future reconstructions and provides a cautionary look at potential environmental crises.
The film was directed and written by Federico Savonitto and produced by RAI Cinema and Kublai Film. It features a cast of individuals appearing as themselves, including Dino Zoff, Fabio Capello, Paolo Rumiz, Manuela Di Centa, and Ester Kinsky. The production includes music by Elisa and Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti. Released on March 2, 2026, the Italian production has a runtime of 91 minutes.
