Piercing Water

This documentary focuses on the indigenous Da’o people living on a small island in the Pacific. The story follows Vongnyan, a young man whose passion for the ocean led him to join the navy. After returning home emotionally scarred, he spends sleepless nights sharing his struggles with the sea. Meanwhile, his younger brother Bo lives a carefree life in the water, though he is approaching a time when he must decide his own path.

The film was directed by Wu Fan and follows his 2024 project, XiXi. Produced in Taiwan, the documentary has a total runtime of 24 minutes.
