Upcoming documentary Rehearsals for a Revolution follows Pegah Ahangarani as she explores her own life story through the lenses of five mentors and family members. By examining these individuals as examples of resistance, the film uses home videos, news clippings, personal archives, and footage of protests to trace over four decades of Iranian history. The narrative spans from 1979 to the conflict that began in 2026, blending private and public memories to illustrate a nation defined by political oppression and a persistent desire for revolution.
Pegah Ahangarani wrote and directed the film, which also features her as the narrator. This is her third directorial effort, following About This Bright Half in 2024 and Taraneh: A Documentary in 2025. The project is a co-production between Spain and the Czech Republic, involving production companies Fasten Films and Europe Media Nest. Produced by Kaveh Farnam and Adrià Monés, the film has a runtime of 98 minutes.
