Return to Never Land

Return to Never Land continues the story of Peter Pan years after Wendy Darling's adventures in Never Land. Now an adult living in London during World War II, Wendy tells her children stories about the flying boy who never grew up. Her young son Danny loves the tales, but his twelve-year-old sister Jane dismisses them as nonsense. When Captain Hook abducts Jane and takes her to Never Land, hoping to use her as bait to finally capture his old enemy, Peter Pan comes to her rescue with the help of Tinker Bell and the Lost Boys. Getting home, however, depends on Jane's willingness to believe.

The film was directed by Robin Budd from a screenplay by Temple Mathews, and it was produced by Walt Disney Pictures with Disney Television Animation and DisneyToon Studios. Its voice cast includes Harriet Owen as both Jane and the young Wendy, Blayne Weaver as Peter Pan, Corey Burton as Captain Hook, Kath Soucie as the adult Wendy, Jeff Bennett, and Andrew McDonough.

Made for a budget of 20 million US dollars, the film earned about 110 million US dollars worldwide, a strong return for an animated sequel of this scale. Audience response has been moderate: on IMDb it holds 5.8 out of 10 from roughly 24,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.5 out of 10 from around 2,400 votes. A critics' rating of 5.5 out of 10 from 96 reviews places professional assessment close to the IMDb figure and slightly below the TMDB score.
