Comanche Station

Jefferson Cody, a solitary frontiersman, negotiates with a band of Comanche to secure the release of a white woman held captive by the tribe. He intends to return her to her husband, but the journey home proves dangerous. Three outlaws, aware of the reward offered for the woman's safe return, want to claim her for themselves, and the Comanche remain a threat as well. Cody must protect his charge from both pursuing parties.

The film is a Western directed by Budd Boetticher, working from a screenplay by Burt Kennedy, and produced by Randolph Scott and Boetticher for Ranown Pictures. It was Boetticher's fifth western in the run that began with 7 Men from Now in 1956 and continued through The Tall T, Decision at Sundown and Ride Lonesome. Randolph Scott plays Cody, with Nancy Gates as Mrs. Lowe, Claude Akins as Ben Lane, and Skip Homeier and Richard Rust among the supporting cast. The film runs seventy-four minutes.

Released in January 1960, Comanche Station holds a 7 out of 10 rating on IMDb from roughly 4,900 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.7 from a much smaller tally of 122. A critics' score of 8.3 from eleven reviews places it higher than either audience measure, though both indicate generally favourable responses over the decades since its release.
