Tristán and the Days to Come is a documentary that follows a teenager in Argentina as he undergoes a gender transition. With support from his mother, Virginia, as well as his peers and the government, Tristán also explores his interest in art. The film explores the challenges he faces as he enters adulthood, specifically focusing on how a changing political environment puts his legal rights at risk and the emotional toll of these struggles.
The film was directed and written by Martina Matzkin and Gabriela Uassouf, and produced by Rocío Pichirili. It is a co-production between France, Uruguay, and Argentina, involving production companies Lumen Cine and Groncho Estudio. The final runtime of the documentary is 62 minutes.
