Pistol Whipped

Matt Conlin is a former elite police officer whose life has come apart through compulsive gambling and mounting debt. Estranged from his ex-wife and daughter, he is offered a way out when a mysterious figure known as the Old Man buys up what he owes. In return, Matt is expected to use his old skills to eliminate powerful criminals who have long operated above the law. The arrangement pulls him into a violent conflict, and when a job turns out to involve someone he believed to be clean, he is forced to fight his way through a situation in which every move carries risk.

Steven Seagal leads the cast as Matt, with Lance Henriksen as the Old Man, Blanchard Ryan as Liz, Bernie McInerney as Father Joe Maloney, Antoni Corone as Sharp and Matt Salinger as Dealer. Roel Reiné directed from a screenplay by J.D. Zeik; Seagal produced alongside Alwyn Kushner. The film was made for about 10 million USD and runs 99 minutes. It was Reiné's first feature among the twenty-one he has directed in chronological order, followed by Deadwater the same year.

Audience response has been modest: on IMDb it holds 5.1 out of 10 from roughly 5,700 votes, and on TMDB 5.5 out of 10 from around 171 votes. Both figures point to a limited following rather than wide acclaim.
