BloodRayne II: Deliverance takes the series from its earlier setting to the American frontier of the 1880s. Rayne, a dhampir born of human and vampire parents, arrives in the small town of Deliverance, where the outlaw Billy the Kid and his gang of undead cowmen have taken control. Billy turns local men into vampires and seizes children, building toward a vampire army. Rayne joins forces with townspeople, among them a reporter, a preacher and the lawman Pat Garrett, to stand against him. The film is a Western-flavoured action fantasy with horror elements.
Uwe Boll directed from a screenplay by Christopher Donaldson, with Dan Clarke and Shawn Williamson producing. It is the sixth of the twenty films Boll has directed in chronological order, arriving between In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale and Postal in 2007. Natassia Malthe plays Rayne, with Zack Ward as Billy the Kid, Michael Paré as Pat Garrett, Brendan Fletcher, Chris Coppola and Michael Eklund in supporting roles; twenty-seven cast members are credited. Made on a budget of about 10 million dollars and running 99 minutes, it was released in September 2007.
On IMDb the film holds a rating of 2.7 from roughly 12,000 votes, and on TMDB it stands at 4 out of 10 from a far smaller number of votes. Both figures point to a largely negative reception from viewers.
