Hurricane Smith

Set in the South Seas, this action adventure follows the conflict between rival freebooters seeking hidden treasure. Hurricane Smith and his competitors fight for the gold, while also competing for the affection of a young woman named Luana.

Directed by Jerry Hopper, this was the first of five films listed in his directorial history. The movie features a cast including John Ireland as the title character, Yvonne De Carlo as Luana Whitmore, and James Craig as Gorvahlsen. Other roles were played by Forrest Tucker, Lyle Bettger, and Richard Arlen. The screenplay was written by Frank Gruber, and the project was produced by Nat Holt through Paramount and Nat Holt Productions.
