• Wes Craven (1939-2015) wanted Ray Wise to be in makeup constantly, but he turned out to be so unlike Dick Durock (1937-2009) that all of this footage went to waste and was not used. And before that, Craven shot every scene with the Swamp Creature twice – once with Wise and once with Durock.
• Swamp Thing was created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson and first appeared in the comic House of Secrets #92 in 1971.
• Wes Craven (1939-2015) wanted Ray Wise to be in makeup constantly, but he ended up looking so different from Dick Durock (1937-2009) that all that footage was wasted and not used. Until that point, Craven had filmed every scene with Swamp Thing twice—once with Wise and once with Durock.
