Interrogation

Set in Stalinist Poland, this crime drama follows Tonia, a cabaret singer who is arrested and imprisoned after a night of drinking. She finds herself trapped in a brutal cycle of interrogation and torture as officials attempt to force her to sign a false confession. As the months pass, Tonia struggles to survive and maintain her innocence while her relationship with her captors becomes increasingly complex.

Directed by Ryszard Bugajski, this was the first film in a series of four credited works by the director. The movie was produced by Andrzej Wajda and Tadeusz Drewno and written by Bugajski and Janusz Dymek. The cast features Krystyna Janda in the lead role as Antonina Dziwisz, alongside Adam Ferency, Janusz Gajos, Agnieszka Holland, Bożena Dykiel, and Olgierd Łukaszewicz.
