Short description

Two evil kung-fu masters known as Heaven and Earth attack the Yin-Yang brotherhood, leading to a massacre. Two survivors escape with their young sons, though the fathers are separated and raise their children in very different ways. While one son is trained in the secrets of martial arts from a young age, the other becomes a lazy inventor who spends his time creating mechanical contraptions. Years later, these two young men must confront the assassins of their parents to seek revenge.

The film was directed by Chan Chuen, who previously directed The Executor in 1981. It was produced by Lo Wei, who also wrote the screenplay. The movie features Jackie Chan as Ching Lung, appearing alongside Dean Shek, Yen Shi-Kwan, Kwon Yeong-moon, James Tien Chuen, and Chen Hui-Lou, with a total of 31 credited cast members. Produced in Hong Kong by Lo Wei Motion Picture Co., this action comedy has a runtime of 92 minutes.

Audience reception is mixed, with a rating of 5.8/10 on TMDB based on 88 votes.

What's left behind the scenes

  • In the new scenes, Lo Wai filmed a Chan double.
  • Right in the middle of filming, Jackie Chan left the project. Lo Wai tried to make him return using the triads, but to no avail.
  • The film was shot in 1980, but released in 1983, despite Jackie Chan's protests.
  • When producer Willie Chan decided to move from Lo Wei Motion Picture Company to Golden Harvest, he advised Jackie Chan to consider whether he wanted to continue working with Lo Wei Motion Picture Company. Chan began filming this movie, but then abruptly changed his mind, tore up his contract, and left for Golden Harvest. Following this, the management of Lo Wei Motion Picture Company began blackmailing the actor and threatening him with triads, while blaming Willie Chan for the loss of their movie star. The conflict was resolved thanks to the intervention of actor and director Jimmy Wang Yu, and Chan remained with Golden Harvest. To complete filming, Lo Wei Motion Picture Company hired a stunt double. According to Chan, the resulting film was so terrible that he even went to court to prevent its release, but he lost the case, and Lo Wei Motion Picture Company released the film.
