Ernest Goes to Camp

Ernest P. Worrell is a clumsy employee at a summer camp who hopes to become a counselor. When a group of juvenile delinquents arrives at the facility, Ernest attempts to guide and inspire them. While dealing with the difficult teenagers, he also works to prevent a mining company from seizing the camp's land for resource extraction.

Directed by John Cherry, this family comedy was the first of three films he directed, followed by Ernest Goes to Jail and Ernest Scared Stupid. The movie stars Jim Varney in the title role, alongside Victoria Racimo, John Vernon, Lyle Alzado, Gailard Sartain, and Daniel Butler.
