Iron Maiden: Flight 666 is a documentary about the British heavy metal band's 2008 Somewhere Back in Time World Tour. It follows the group as they travel between continents on a chartered jet flown by their lead singer, Bruce Dickinson, covering dates in India, Australia, Japan, the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America. The film combines footage from the tour with interviews with the band members, their road crew and their fans, and includes live performances recorded in different cities.
The film was directed by Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen, who also wrote it. It was the first feature either director made, ahead of later music documentaries such as The Ballad of Judas Priest and Neil Peart: No One's Disciple. It features all six members of Iron Maiden at the time: Dickinson, guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers, bassist Steve Harris and drummer Nicko McBrain, each appearing as themselves.
Released in 2009 and running just under two hours, the film was produced by Banger Films and made in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. On IMDb it holds a rating of 8.3 from around 5,900 votes, while on TMDB it has a rating of 7.7 from a much smaller number of votes.
