Sweet November

Nelson Moss is a driven advertising executive in San Francisco whose life revolves around his work. After a chance encounter at the DMV, where he distracts Sara Deever during her driving test, the two meet again and end up sharing a month together. Sara makes a practice of spending one month with a man she believes she can help change, with no strings attached, and Nelson, initially resistant, becomes her latest project. Over the course of November, the arrangement tests both of them as their feelings move beyond the terms they agreed on.

Pat O'Connor directed the film, working from a screenplay by Kurt Voelker, and the story had previously been filmed in 1968. Sweet November was O'Connor's third feature, following Cal in 1984 and Inventing the Abbotts in 1997. Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron lead the cast as Nelson and Sara, with Jason Isaacs, Greg Germann, Liam Aiken and Robert Joy in supporting roles.

Released in February 2001, the film had a budget of 40 million USD and took about 66 million USD worldwide, a modest return. On IMDb it holds 6.7/10 from 99,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.9/10 from 1,494 votes. A critics' rating of 4/10 from 99 reviews places it well below the audience scores.
