Trouble in Paradise
Short description
Gaston and Lily, both thieves who pose as members of high society, meet in Venice and fall in love. They join forces and move on to Paris, where they take positions in the household of Mariette Colet, a wealthy perfume executive, with plans to rob her safe. Gaston, working as Mariette's personal secretary under an assumed name, grows close to her, and his feelings for her put his partnership with Lily in question. The romantic comedy Trouble in Paradise was directed and produced by Ernst Lubitsch from a screenplay by Samson Raphaelson, and it stars Herbert Marshall, Miriam Hopkins and Kay Francis.
