Short description
In a totalitarian future society, a man whose daily work is rewriting history tries to rebel by falling in love.
What's left behind the scenes
- In the British film "1984" (Michael Anderson, 1956), Donald Pleasence played Syme, whose image in the film was combined with that of Parsons.
- Sonia Orwell (1918-1980), the widow of George Orwell (1903-1950), strongly objected to the altered ending, and thanks to her efforts, the film was withdrawn from circulation.
