Trauma

Ben wakes from a coma to find that his wife died in a car crash. As he attempts to rebuild his life in a new home, he forms a friendship with his neighbor, Charlotte. However, Ben begins to lose his grip on reality, plagued by visions of his deceased spouse and strange occurrences in his apartment. While he struggles with his grief and mental state, he becomes a person of interest for the police regarding the murder of a famous singer.

Directed by Marc Evans, this was the first of four films he directed, preceding Snow Cake, Mr. Burton, and Effi o Blaenau. The screenplay was written by Richard Smith. The movie stars Colin Firth as Ben, Mena Suvari as Charlotte, and Naomie Harris as Elisa, with a supporting cast that includes Sean Harris, Neil Edmond, and Kenneth Cranham. Produced in the United Kingdom by companies including BBC Film and Isle of Man Film, the project involved a credited crew of 44 people.
