Short description
Modern treasure hunters, led by archaeologist Ben Gates, search for a chest of riches rumored to have been stashed away by George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin during the Revolutionary War. The chest's whereabouts may lie in secret clues embedded in the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, and Gates is in a race to find the gold before his enemies do.
What's left behind the scenes
- All the good guys in the movie use the “Google” search engine while working online, while the bad guys use “Yahoo!”
- The water in the pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial in the scene where Ben and Riley are talking was added in post-production, as the pool was drained for maintenance at the time of filming.
- In the scene where Ben Gates' car is being searched, during the conversation with the FBI agent, Abigail Chase and Riley Poole are seen noticing that Ben has been apprehended and, turning around, walk away. A moment later, when Ben is pressed against the car, they reappear from around the corner and, turning around again, walk away.
