Clockers

Clockers centres on Ronald "Strike" Dunham, a young Brooklyn drug dealer who works around the clock selling for Rodney Little, an established local dealer. When the night manager of a fast-food restaurant is shot dead, Strike's older brother Victor, a hardworking family man with no criminal record, confesses to the killing. Detective Rocco Klein finds the confession unconvincing, and his suspicions settle on Strike and Rodney, while his partner Larry Mazilli would rather close the case quickly.

Spike Lee directed and co-wrote the film with Richard Price, working from Price's novel, and it was produced by Martin Scorsese, Jon Kilik and Lee. It is the eighth of the twenty-six features Lee has directed, following Crooklyn and preceding Girl 6. Harvey Keitel plays Klein and John Turturro plays Mazilli, with Delroy Lindo as Rodney; Mekhi Phifer appears as Strike, Isaiah Washington as Victor, and Keith David as André the Giant. The credited cast runs to seventy-eight performers, giving the film a broad ensemble.

Made for about 25 million dollars, the film returned roughly 13 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.9 out of 10 from about 25,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.7 out of 10 from 371 votes. A critics' rating of 7.3 out of 10 from 64 reviews places it somewhat above the audience scores.
