Color of Night

A New York psychiatrist, Bill Capa, stops practising after a patient dies in front of him. He travels to Los Angeles to stay with an old friend and fellow therapist, Bob Moore, who has been receiving threats. When Bob is murdered, Capa takes over his therapy group, partly to hold himself together and partly because the police suspect that one of the patients may be responsible. At the same time he becomes involved with Rose, a woman he meets by chance, who appears to have a connection to what has happened.

Richard Rush directed the film from a screenplay by Billy Ray and Matthew Chapman. Bruce Willis plays Capa, with Scott Bakula as Bob, Jane March as Rose, Rubén Blades as Hector, Lesley Ann Warren as Sondra and Brad Dourif as Clark. The project brought together Hollywood Pictures and Cinergi Pictures Entertainment on a budget of 40 million dollars, and it earned around 20 million dollars worldwide.

On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.2 from roughly 27,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.8 from about 651 votes. A critics' rating of 4.5 out of 10 across 49 reviews places it below even the modest audience scores. The film runs 121 minutes and mixes mystery and thriller material with horror and romance.
