Short description
Stone Cold centres on Joe Huff, a police officer who has drawn the attention of the FBI for his willingness to work alone and get results. When biker violence spills into public view, the Bureau forces him into an undercover assignment: posing as a man named John Stone, he must work his way inside The Brotherhood, a heavily armed biker gang operating out of Mississippi. The gang funds itself through drug trafficking, protection money and ties to organized crime, and its members are notoriously suspicious of outsiders. Huff's challenge is to earn the trust of the gang's leader, Chains Cooper, without being exposed, while the gang's activities escalate into direct confrontation with the authorities.
The film was directed by Craig R. Baxley, its place in a run of action features that includes Action Jackson, Dark Angel and Sudden Fury. Walter Doniger wrote the screenplay, and Mace Neufeld, Moshe Diamant and Rick Bieber produced. Brian Bosworth plays Huff and John Stone, with Lance Henriksen as Chains Cooper, William Forsythe as Ice, Arabella Holzbog as Nancy, Sam McMurray as Lance and Richard Gant as Cunningham. It was released in May 1991 and runs 92 minutes.
Made for around 25 million USD, the film returned roughly 9 million USD worldwide, a small fraction of its cost. On IMDb it holds a critics' rating of 4.9/10 from 10 reviews, against a TMDB audience rating of 6.2/10 from 220 votes, so viewers have rated it more generously than critics.

- Lance Henriksen wrote all of his lines himself in every scene he appeared in.
- Bruce Malmuth (1934-2005) was originally the film's director, but he was fired for “personal reasons that were affecting the project.” His dismissal forced a change to the backstory of the character played by Brian Bosworth when Craig R. Baxley took over as director. Approximately 4 weeks were spent filming scenes with Bosworth and his family (wife, child, and sister), but the scenes, which cost $4 million to film, were cut during editing.
- According to Brian Bosworth, he is an avid motorcyclist himself, and he once assembled his character’s motorcycle with his own hands, then offered the filmmakers to use it because he felt most comfortable riding it.
- In a fragment of the film, at the end of the 19th minute, you can notice the biker, whom the main character is fighting, wearing a vest. And a few seconds later, that same biker is fighting with a completely bare torso.
