The Sky Palace

An eight-year-old boy in Iceland longs for a dog of his own. Because his parents are preoccupied with work and home construction during a period of financial hardship, his father refuses to pay for the pet but allows the boy to buy one using his own savings. After working to earn the money and purchasing a puppy, a conflict with his father prompts the boy to leave home. He begins a journey across the Icelandic mountains to find his grandfather.

Directed by Þorsteinn Jónsson, who also served as a producer, this family drama was released in 1994. The film features Kári Gunnarsson in the lead role of Emil, alongside Steindór Hjörleifsson, Guðrún Gísladóttir, and Hjalti Rögnvaldsson.
