Short description
Britain, A.D. 117. Quintus Dias, the sole survivor of a Pictish raid on a Roman frontier fort, marches north with General Virilus' legendary Ninth Legion, under orders to wipe the Picts from the face of the Earth and destroy their leader, Gorlacon.
What's left behind the scenes
- The working title of the film was "The Ninth Legion".
- Among the filming locations are Badenoch, Strathspey and Glenfeshie Estate in Kingussie, Scotland. Filming also took place in London, at Ealing Studios, and in the surroundings of Surrey, such as Alice Holt Forest.
- During filming in Badenoch and Strathspey, Roman soldiers and Picts were portrayed by historical reenactment groups.
