Loose Cannons

Mac, a tough Washington D.C. police officer, is paired with Ellis, an eccentric detective with a talent for rapid deduction and a tendency to adopt different personalities. The mismatched duo investigates a dangerous case involving a compromising film from the Third Reich. This footage reveals the hidden past of a prominent German political figure and attracts the attention of neo-Nazis, the FBI, and Israeli intelligence agents. As the partners search for the footage, they face violent attacks from those desperate to keep the secret buried.

Directed by Bob Clark, this action comedy follows his previous work such as From the Hip. The film stars Gene Hackman as MacArthur Stern and Dan Aykroyd as Ellis Fielding, supported by Dom DeLuise, Ronny Cox, Nancy Travis, and Robert Prosky. Produced by Aaron Spelling and Alan Greisman, the project had a budget of 15 million USD but earned only 6 million USD worldwide.
