Cats Don't Dance

Cats Don't Dance is an animated musical comedy set in a version of 1939 Hollywood where animals and humans work side by side in the movie business, though the animals are limited to barking, mooing or meowing on screen. Danny, a cat from a small town, arrives in the city convinced his singing and dancing will make him a star. He finds that the good roles go to humans, and his attempts to break through run up against Darla Dimple, a child star who guards her position. With help from new friends, among them Sawyer, Tillie and Pudge, Danny sets out to prove that a cat can dance.

The film was directed by Mark Dindal and was the first feature he directed, followed later by The Emperor's New Groove, Chicken Little and The Garfield Movie. Theresa Cullen, Elana Lesser and Cliff Ruby wrote the screenplay, and David Kirschner and Paul Gertz produced. Scott Bakula voices Danny, Jasmine Guy voices Sawyer with Natalie Cole singing for the character, and Ashley Peldon voices Darla Dimple with Lindsay Ridgeway handling her singing. Frank Welker is among the credited cast of 24.

On IMDb it holds a critics' rating of 6.5 out of 10 from 24 reviews, while on TMDB it has 7.2 out of 10 from 208 votes, so audience voters rate it higher than the critics do.
