At the Devil's Door

Leigh is a young real estate agent who takes on the sale of a house with a troubled history. The elderly couple who own it want it gone, but Leigh's attempts to find buyers bring her into contact with their daughter Hannah, a disturbed young woman who has run away from home. When Leigh tries to help her, she becomes involved with a supernatural force connected to the house, and that force soon draws in her sister Vera, an artist. Both women find themselves caught up in something with sinister intentions for them.

The film was directed by Nicholas McCarthy, who also wrote the screenplay, and it followed his 2012 debut The Pact as the second of his directed features. Catalina Sandino Moreno plays Leigh, with Ashley Rickards as Hannah, Naya Rivera as Vera, Nick Eversman as Calvin, Michael Massee as Uncle Mike and Mark Steger as the Thin Man. Sonny Mallhi produced, and the credited cast runs to twenty-three names. It runs 91 minutes.

On TMDB the film holds a rating of 4.7 out of 10 from 265 votes, which points to a modest response from viewers rather than a broad endorsement. Released in 2014, it sits between McCarthy's first feature and the anthology Holidays, and belongs to the wave of low-budget American horror productions of that period.
