Bad Guy is a Korean drama from 2002 about a man who works as an enforcer in a red-light district. One day in a Seoul park he approaches a young art student sitting alone and forces himself on her; when she resists and humiliates him, his wounded pride turns into a plan for revenge. He arranges for her to fall into debt, then uses that debt to control her and push her into prostitution, drawing her into the world he comes from. Over time the two develop a tense bond built on dependence, disgust and attraction at once. The film sets this against the alleys and back rooms of Seoul's poorer districts.
Kim Ki-duk wrote and directed the film, the fifth of the thirteen features he directed in chronological order, following The Coast Guard and preceding Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring. Cho Jae-hyun plays Han-ki, the brothel enforcer, opposite Seo Won as the student Sun-hwa. Ahn Sang-hoon produced, and the cast also includes Kim Yun-tae, Choi Deok-moon and Choi Yoon-young.
On IMDb the film holds 6.6/10 from around 11,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 6.5/10 from roughly 300 votes. A critics' rating of 5.8/10 from 31 reviews puts it slightly below both audience scores.
