Cars 3

Cars 3 continues the story of Lightning McQueen, the veteran race car who finds himself outpaced by a new generation of faster, technologically advanced competitors led by the ambitious Jackson Storm. After a serious crash puts his career in doubt, McQueen refuses to walk away from the sport. He turns to Cruz Ramirez, a young race technician with her own ambitions, to help him train and find a way back to competitive racing, drawing inspiration from the legacy of the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet. The film is set in the world of the Piston Cup circuit and follows McQueen as he confronts what it means to be a champion at a different stage of his career.

Directed by Brian Fee, the film is a Pixar production and the third installment in the Cars series. The screenplay was written by Bob Peterson, Mike Rich and Kiel Murray, with Kevin Reher producing. Owen Wilson returns as the voice of Lightning McQueen, joined by Cristela Alonzo as Cruz Ramirez, Chris Cooper as Smokey, Nathan Fillion as Sterling, Larry the Cable Guy as Mater and Armie Hammer as Jackson Storm. The film runs 102 minutes.

Released in June 2017, Cars 3 had a budget of 175 million US dollars and earned 384 million US dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.7 from around 149,000 votes, while on TMDB it rates 6.9 from roughly 6,600 votes. A critics' rating of 6.2 from 233 reviews places it somewhat below the audience scores.
