What's left behind the scenes
- The film was shot in Moscow—at Miussky Cemetery and the Church of the Resurrection of the Word at Uspensky Vrazhek (the wedding scene)—and in Yalta—at the Yalta-Gorka cable car and the Yalta-Intourist hotel.
- Initially, Anna Samokhina was cast in the role of Marina, but for unknown reasons, the actress left the production. Samokhina was replaced by Alexandra Zakharova, but she too was unable to participate in the filming due to pneumonia.
- Actor Andrey Dudarenko was made up numerous times to appear as a sinister portrait, which proved to be a real ordeal for him.
- According to Andrey Dudarenko, he did not know why Albert S. Mkrtchyan cast him in the role. The actor recalls that for a long time, Mkrtchyan himself could not figure out exactly what he was looking for.
- A stunt performer died during the filming of the movie in Yalta.
