Short description
Set in Los Angeles, this crime thriller follows Harry Ross, a retired police officer and private investigator who works as a handyman for his friends, Jack and Catherine Ames. Jack is a terminally ill former actor whose marriage is strained by financial troubles and his wife's struggles with alcohol. When Harry agrees to deliver a payment to an unknown person, he is attacked and discovers a dead body. This event pulls him into a dangerous investigation involving blackmail and the disappearance of Catherine's first husband twenty years prior. Harry's personal feelings for Catherine complicate his efforts to uncover the truth behind the crimes.
