Fantozzi Still Suffers continues the story of Ugo Fantozzi, the long-suffering accountant at a large company. After a grueling day at the office and an argumentative condominium-board meeting, he sets off on a trip with his family. The journey proves memorable for its disasters, and on returning home he learns that his daughter Mariangela is pregnant. Around this domestic upheaval gather the familiar figures of his working life, including his wife Pina, his daughter, his colleague Filini and the formidable Signorina Silvani. The film is a comedy built on the humiliations, mishaps and indignities that pile up around its put-upon hero.
Neri Parenti directed this third of the fifteen films he has directed in chronological order, following Fracchia The Human Beast and preceding Super Fantozzi. The screenplay was written by Leonardo Benvenuti, Paolo Villaggio and Piero De Bernardi, with Bruno Altissimi and Claudio Saraceni producing. Villaggio again plays Fantozzi, joined by Milena Vukotić, Plinio Fernando, Gigi Reder, Anna Mazzamauro and Riccardo Garrone. Running 85 minutes, it opened on 22 December 1983.
The ratings reflect a steady following rather than broad acclaim: on IMDb it holds 6.4 out of 10 from around 2,700 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.5 out of 10 from roughly 489 votes.
