Vice Versa

Vice Versa is a 1988 American comedy fantasy about Marshall Seymour, a divorced father whose work for a store selling imported goods keeps him apart from his eleven-year-old son, Charlie. After a business trip to the East, Marshall brings back an ornate skull with unusual powers. When father and son each wish they could trade places, the skull grants the wish, and the two swap bodies. Marshall must navigate the world in his son's position while Charlie finds himself in his father's adult life, and a pair of criminals is also after the skull.

The film was directed by Brian Gilbert and written and produced by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais. It is the first feature in Gilbert's directing career as listed, preceding Not Without My Daughter, Wilde and The Gathering. Judge Reinhold plays Marshall and Fred Savage plays Charlie, with Corinne Bohrer, Swoosie Kurtz, Jane Kaczmarek and David Proval in supporting roles; twenty cast members and fifty-nine crew members are credited. It was produced by Columbia Pictures with Clement/La Frenais Productions and runs 98 minutes.
