Full Contact

Jeff is a nightclub bouncer in Bangkok who agrees to join a weapons heist to help a friend pay off a gambling debt. The robbery is led by Judge, a ruthless killer skilled with firearms. The job goes wrong, and Judge turns on Jeff, leaving him badly wounded in a fire and presumed dead. Jeff survives and devotes himself to training until he is ready to hunt down Judge and his crew, though whether he can go through with his plan remains in question.

Full Contact was directed by Ringo Lam, who also produced, from a screenplay by Nam Yin. It followed Twin Dragons in Lam's filmography and was released in 1992. Chow Yun-fat plays Jeff, with Simon Yam as Judge, Anthony Wong as Sam, Ann Bridgewater as Mona, Bonnie Fu Yuk-Jing as Lau Ngang and Frankie Chan Chi-Leung as Deano. The production was made between Hong Kong and Thailand on a budget of about 1 million USD and returned roughly twice that at the worldwide box office.

On IMDb the film holds a rating of 7.1/10 from around 5,300 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.8/10 from about 126 votes. The larger IMDb sample points to a durable following for this Hong Kong action crime thriller, while the smaller TMDB figure places it somewhat lower among viewers there.
