The Psychic

Virginia Ducci has had flashes of clairvoyance since childhood, and as an adult she experiences a vision of a murder connected to a country house belonging to her husband, Francesco. While he is away on business in London, she goes to the house intending to renovate it as a surprise and finds that details from her vision match the real building. Breaking through a wall, she uncovers a corpse, and the police identify the remains as those of a young woman. Francesco, who knew the victim, becomes the chief suspect, leaving Virginia to work with her psychiatrist and others to clarify what she saw and who is responsible.

Lucio Fulci directed the film, his tenth in a run of nineteen, between My Sister in Law (1976) and Zombie Flesh Eaters (1979). He also wrote the screenplay with Dardano Sacchetti and Roberto Gianviti, and Alberto Pugliese produced. Jennifer O'Neill plays Virginia, with Gianni Garko as Francesco, Gabriele Ferzetti as Emilio Rospini, Marc Porel as Luca Fattori, Ida Galli as Gloria Ducci and Jenny Tamburi as Bruna, among a credited cast of twenty. The Italian production runs 97 minutes and blends horror, mystery and thriller elements.
