Short description
Scrat's endless pursuit of his acorn takes him off the planet, where his mishaps set off a chain of cosmic events that put the prehistoric world in danger. With a giant object on a collision course with Earth, Manny, Sid and Diego leave their home behind and set out across strange new lands in search of a way to survive.
Ice Age: Collision Course is a 2016 American animated adventure directed by Mike Thurmeier, his third feature after No Time for Nuts and Ice Age: Continental Drift. The screenplay is by Michael J. Wilson, Michael Berg and Yoni Brenner, with Lori Forte and Patrick Worlock producing for Blue Sky Studios. Ray Romano, John Leguizamo and Denis Leary return as the voices of Manny, Sid and Diego, joined by Adam Devine, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Max Greenfield among a credited cast of 42, supported by a credited crew of 56.
Made for about 105 million US dollars, the film took roughly 409 million dollars worldwide, a return that outweighs its cost though well below the series' earlier peaks. Audiences rate it modestly, at 5.7 out of 10 on IMDb from 85,000 votes and 6.1 out of 10 on TMDB from around 5,000 votes, while critics were harsher, giving it 4.1 out of 10 across 120 reviews. The gap suggests a film that still pleased families while disappointing reviewers.
