Yours, Mine and Ours

Yours, Mine and Ours is a 1968 American family comedy about two widowed parents who marry and merge their households: Helen North, a widow raising eight children, and Frank Beardsley, a naval officer and widower with ten. The twenty of them move into an old house in San Francisco, where the practical demands of running such a large family and the friction between the two sets of children complicate the couple's attempts to build a single, settled home.

Melville Shavelson directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Mort Lachman, with Robert F. Blumofe producing. It was the fourth film Shavelson directed, following Houseboat, It Started in Naples and On the Double. Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda star as Helen and Frank, heading a credited cast of fifty-nine that also includes Van Johnson, Louise Troy, Sidney Miller and Tom Bosley.

Released in April 1968, the film runs 111 minutes and belongs to the comedy and family genres. On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.1 from around 11,000 votes, while on TMDB its rating is 6.9 from a much smaller base of 167 votes, indicating a steady level of approval from a fairly broad audience. A critics' rating of 6.6 from fourteen reviews places it somewhat below the audience scores on IMDb.
