Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time

Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time concludes the Rebuild of Evangelion film series. After the Fourth Impact, Shinji, Asuka and Rei are left without their Evangelions and take shelter in one of the few surviving communities on a devastated Earth, where each of them lives far removed from life as a pilot. Yet the threat to the world has not passed, and a new Impact approaches. Elsewhere, Misato and her anti-NERV organisation Wille reach a Paris damaged by core-ization, where the crew of the ship Wunder lands on a containment tower and has a strict time limit to restore the city; when a swarm of NERV Evas appears, Mari's upgraded Evangelion Unit 08 must intercept them. The film was directed by Mahiro Maeda, Hideaki Anno, Kazuya Tsurumaki and Katsuichi Nakayama, with Anno writing the screenplay. Maeda had previously directed Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, and the film is Hideaki Anno's twelfth of fifteen directed features, following Shin Godzilla and preceding Shin Kamen Rider. The voice cast includes Megumi Ogata as Shinji Ikari, Yuko Miyamura as Asuka Shikinami Langley, Maaya Sakamoto as Mari Makinami Illustrious, Megumi Hayashibara as Rei Ayanami and Yui Ikari, Kotono Mitsuishi as Misato Katsuragi and Yuriko Yamaguchi as Ritsuko Akagi. Made on a budget of about 30 million USD, it took roughly 94 million USD worldwide, a strong return. It holds 8 out of 10 on IMDb and 8.2 out of 10 on TMDB, alongside a film critics' rating of 8.4 out of 10.
