Deceived

Adrienne Saunders has been married to Jack for six years and believes she knows the man she shares her life with. When Jack dies in a car crash, that certainty collapses. The police link her husband to a museum curator's murder and to the sale of forged pieces to museums, and as Adrienne, an art restorer in New York, begins looking into his affairs, she learns that much of what Jack told her about himself was untrue. The more she uncovers, the more exposed she and her young daughter become.

Deceived is a thriller directed by Damian Harris, the first of the four features listed for him, followed by Mercy, The Wilde Wedding and Brave the Dark. Bruce Joel Rubin and Mary Agnes Donoghue wrote the screenplay. Goldie Hawn plays Adrienne, with John Heard as Jack, Ashley Peldon as Mary, and Robin Bartlett, Tom Irwin and Amy Wright in supporting roles. The film was produced by Touchstone Pictures on a budget of 15 million dollars and took about 29 million dollars worldwide.
