Snake in the Monkey's Shadow

A poor young man seeks to learn martial arts to protect himself from the abuse of a wealthy family. After working his way into a school that teaches the drunken boxing style, he eventually gains the skills to defeat his tormentors. In retaliation, the wealthy family hires two assassins skilled in the snake style to kill his teacher. To seek revenge for his fallen mentors, the young man trains in the monkey style, eventually combining both disciplines to face the killers.

Released in 1979, this Hong Kong action drama was directed by Cheung Sum, who previously directed The Devil in Her in 1974. The screenplay was written by Cheung Sum and Wilson Tong, with Alex Gouw serving as producer. The film stars John Cheung Ng-Long as Liang, alongside Hau Chiu-Sing, Tong Tin-Hei, Yao Lin Chen, Wilson Tong, and Pomson Shi.
