Jacob Aloysius Spanner is a weary private investigator who joins forces with his brother to assist a former enemy. Together, they attempt to locate the man's kidnapped granddaughter, who is his only remaining family member. As the investigation unfolds, the true identity of the criminal and the target of the deception remain unclear.
