Short description
Deranged scientist, Gustav Niemann, escapes from prison and overtakes the director of a traveling chamber of horrors, soon reviving the infamous Count Dracula, the frozen Frankenstein Monster, and the Wolf Man.
What's left behind the scenes
- Despite the title, this is the first film in the Universal series in which no member of the Frankenstein family appears.
- Bela Lugosi did not play the role of Dracula in this film, partly due to negotiations and partly because the studio was displeased with his performance in 'Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man' (1943), where he played the Frankenstein Monster.
- Originally, the film was supposed to feature a mummy (another classic Universal character), but due to budget constraints, it had to be excluded.
