Lupin the Third: Bye Bye, Lady Liberty

Arsène Lupin III has been outmatched by Interpol's supercomputer, which can predict his every move, and has settled into retirement with a new companion. His partner Daisuke Jigen pulls him back for one more job: locating the Super Egg, an enormous diamond hidden somewhere inside the Statue of Liberty. Reaching it is only part of the problem. A ruthless secret society is hunting the same prize, and the stone's story turns out to be tied to a computer program with extraordinary reach. Lupin's old adversary Inspector Zenigata is never far behind, while Goemon takes work as a bodyguard for a woman connected to the rival outfit.

The film is a 1989 television movie directed by Osamu Dezaki, made by Tokyo Movie Shinsha with Nippon Television Network Corporation. It sits in the middle of Dezaki's run of Lupin specials, between One Pound Gospel and Lupin the Third: The Hemingway Papers, and follows earlier theatrical work such as Golgo 13: The Professional. The voice cast belongs to the long-standing Lupin ensemble: Yasuo Yamada, Kiyoshi Kobayashi, Eiko Masuyama, Makio Inoue and Gorō Naya, with Yui Komazuka as Isabel. It runs 97 minutes.
